Hormone Optimization in Florida: Labs First, Then a Physician’s Answer

People come to Florida on purpose. Whatever brought you (a career chapter, a family chapter, the one you promised yourself after decades of showing up for everyone else), you had plans for this stretch of your life, and they did not include being too tired for it. So when the energy, the sleep, the drive, or the sense of being at home in your own body starts drifting, the question is not whether you can push through. You have proven you can. The question is what actually changed, and the honest answer to that question is not a guess. It is a measurement.

New Genesis Vitality is a physician-led telehealth practice, and hormone optimization for our Florida patients is delivered by Jeni Baker, MD, a board-certified physician licensed in Florida. The entire process happens online (the consultation, every follow-up, the plan itself), with lab draws handled at whichever Florida Quest location is convenient to you. Your labs come first. Everything else is decided after, with you, by a physician who has actually read them.

What Midlife Change Looks Like on Paper

The changes that bring people to this program rarely announce themselves as hormones. They show up as sleep that ends at 4 a.m. and won’t resume, workouts that stopped paying rent, a temper or a flatness that doesn’t match the day, drive that went quiet. What makes those experiences medical rather than mysterious is that many of them correspond to systems a lab can see.

The Endocrine Society notes that hormone levels change with age in ways that can affect energy, body composition, sleep, and sexual health, in both women and men. For women specifically, The Menopause Society describes the reach of perimenopausal and menopausal shifts well beyond hot flashes, into sleep, mood, and libido. On a lab report, this whole territory becomes concrete: sex-hormone levels, thyroid function, morning cortisol, metabolic and inflammatory markers, vitamin status. These systems interact, which is why the same symptom can have three plausible causes, and why a plan aimed at the wrong one can quietly spend a year of your Florida chapter proving it.

What We Mean by Hormone Optimization

The definition this practice works from is narrow on purpose. Hormone optimization here means your own bloodwork establishes what has actually shifted, and a physician then works out with you whether that evidence justifies treating anything at all. No plan exists until labs have been drawn and read. Where a plan follows, it keeps answering to new labs and to your own account at every follow-up. Nothing arrives pre-assembled, and nothing is decided about your body before your numbers are on the screen in front of Dr. Baker.

How the Program Works for Florida Patients

Step 1: A Panel Drawn Near You, Read by Your Physician

Care starts with our Labs-First Methodology. Which panel Dr. Baker orders depends on what you bring to the consultation (energy, recovery, and body-composition questions tend to point one direction, libido and sexual-health questions another), and across the menu the markers measured include sex-hormone levels, thyroid function, and metabolic and inflammatory status. The draw happens at a Florida Quest location near you, Quest sends your raw results directly to you, and your physician walks you through what they mean. Panels start at $99, and the panel fee is your only lab cost; the draw and the review come inside it. The full menu for Florida patients is on our Florida lab testing page.

Step 2: A Real Consultation, One on One

The visit is video, unhurried, and with the same Florida-licensed physician who reads your labs. Initial consultations run about 30 minutes, follow-ups about 15, with evening and weekend openings on the calendar. Expect questions that go past the numbers (sleep, stress, history, what you have already tried), because two patients with identical labs can need entirely different care.

Step 3: A Plan Only Where the Findings Support One

What happens next depends on what the first two steps showed. Where the evidence supports treatment, Dr. Baker proposes a plan and explains her reasoning. Where it supports waiting and re-measuring, she says that instead, plainly. If any medication is prescribed, it is billed separately at the pharmacy’s pass-through price, quoted to you before anything is filled.

Step 4: Adjustment, on Evidence

Follow-ups put fresh labs next to your own report of the weeks between, and the plan moves where the two together say it should. Ask how long something takes and you get a clinical answer, not a sales answer.

Every fee, before you commit: $199 for the initial consultation, $149 for follow-ups, lab panels from $99, and medication, only if prescribed, at pass-through pharmacy pricing, quoted first. Cash-pay, no hidden fees, with superbills available if you choose to pursue HSA or FSA reimbursement; the complete picture is on our pricing page. If you already have recent bloodwork, bring it: usable results spare you the cost of repeating them.

Your Physician in Florida

Florida care in this program belongs to Jeni Baker, MD, Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician and The Women’s Vitality Physician. Much of her reputation comes from her work with women navigating midlife, and the program serves women and men alike. Her Florida license means there is no hand-off and no intermediary here: the physician who reads your labs is the one on your screen, at the first visit and at every one after it.

She practices within New Genesis Vitality (US Board-Certified Physicians and Practitioners with over 80 years of combined experience), and Florida patients have access to the practice’s full range of telehealth care; our Florida telehealth page shows everything available to you. Two neighboring doors worth knowing about: if your central question is weight through the menopause transition, our menopause weight loss page for Florida goes deeper there, and if what changed is desire or comfort, our women’s sexual wellness page for Florida treats that as the medical topic it is.

The Part No Lab Can See

The lab report is half the evaluation. The other half is your own account (what changed, when, and what it is costing you), and in this practice that account is treated as evidence, not small talk. The physician you start with is the physician you follow up with, and the plan optimizes for the life you actually moved here to live. (Individual results vary; see sitewide results disclaimer block.)

Questions Florida Patients Ask Us

Who provides hormone optimization at New Genesis Vitality in Florida?

Dr. Jeni Baker, MD, Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician and The Women’s Vitality Physician, is the treating physician for hormone optimization in Florida. She is licensed in Florida and personally conducts this program’s visits, first consultation and every follow-up, by video. The only part that happens outside your home is the blood draw, at whichever Florida Quest site you choose.

I’m already getting this kind of care somewhere else. Can you take over?

Yes: you can move your care to us, and the transition starts the same way everything here starts: with your own labs and a consultation. Bring your recent bloodwork and a list of what you are currently taking; Dr. Baker reviews where things stand before proposing anything, and recent usable results can spare you the cost of re-testing. Whether and how your current plan changes is a medical decision she makes with you, from the evidence, not a default switch.

Do I stop seeing my regular doctor if I start here?

No. This program is focused care, not a replacement for your primary care physician, and keeping your own doctor is expected. You can share your results and your plan with them: you receive your raw Quest results directly, so you always have your own copy to bring to any appointment, anywhere.

How do the lab draws work in Florida?

Dr. Baker orders your panel during the consultation process, and you take the requisition to whichever Florida Quest location suits you; the partnership is nationwide, so most patients find a draw site close to home. Quest sends your raw results directly to you, your physician receives them as well, and the walkthrough happens at your visit. The panel price covers the draw and the review; from $99 depending on the panel.

What happens between booking and my first consultation?

You book online and pick a time that works; evening and weekend slots included. Your initial visit with Dr. Baker runs about 30 minutes by video from wherever you are in Florida. Depending on your situation, labs are ordered through the consultation process so that your plan, if one follows, is built on your numbers rather than a template. Nothing is prescribed before a physician has actually evaluated you.

Measure First. Decide Second.

That is the whole offer: a Florida-licensed physician, a lab panel drawn down the road, and a decision made with you from your own results, including, sometimes, the decision that no treatment is warranted yet. If that is the version of this care you have been looking for, book a consultation with Dr. Baker.
