Florida is where the calendar finally belongs to you, and brain fog is the least welcome guest that calendar can host. The morning tee time, the grandchildren’s visit, the consulting hours you kept because you like the work, the boat, the book you were finally going to write: all of it runs on the same resource. So when the word will not come, when the story you are telling loses its thread mid-sentence, when the errand list needs checking three times, it is not a small thing. It is your time being taxed, in the years you planned to spend it best.
There is a sentence we would like to retire from Florida porches: “well, at my age.” Age is real, and it explains some things. But “at my age” is a shrug, not an evaluation, and it has a way of absorbing symptoms that deserve a look. Brain fog is a symptom. Some of what commonly contributes to it is measurable on ordinary blood work, at any age, and the honest way to learn whether measurable contributors are part of your version is to measure them rather than assume them.
New Genesis Vitality is a physician-led telehealth practice with four clinicians licensed in Florida. The full education on brain fog, its common midlife contributors and how our evaluation is designed, lives on our national brain fog treatment hub. This page is the Florida-specific version: the law your care operates under, the clinicians who can actually see you here, and every price involved, published before you book anything.
Section 456.47, Florida Statutes, is the state’s telehealth framework: it defines how licensed providers may deliver care by video to patients located in Florida and holds that care to real practice standards. The practical meaning for you is simple. An evaluation here is regulated medicine, not a consumer app; at New Genesis Vitality, your clinician holds an active Florida license; and you must be physically in Florida at the time of each visit. Every New Genesis Vitality clinician who sees Florida patients meets that bar.
A brain fog evaluation by telehealth in Florida is regulated online medical care, delivered under Section 456.47, Florida Statutes, in which a Florida-licensed clinician takes your history by video, orders blood work covering measurable contributors to cognitive symptoms, thyroid function, B12 and folate, vitamin D, and metabolic markers among them, then reviews the results with you and addresses contributing factors where medically appropriate. Measurement comes first, explanation second, and no assumption is allowed to stand in for either.
The first visit is $199, lasts about 30 minutes, happens by video, and schedules into evenings and weekends as easily as weekday mornings. Bring the specifics your family may be tired of hearing: what slips, how often, since when, and what it interrupts. In an evaluation, those details are the map, and a clinician who asks for them is doing medicine, not intake.
Quest runs patient service centers throughout Florida, and the labs your clinician orders during the consultation are drawn at the one convenient to you, with the draw already included in the panel price. Panels start at $99; the Neurocognitive panel, built around the measurable contributors to cognitive symptoms, is $269. Pricier add-on tiers exist; few patients need them, and your clinician will say so plainly rather than upsell you. And recent blood work from any other clinician still counts here: bring it, and you skip the cost of repeating whatever remains current. Florida lab logistics live on our lab testing in Florida page.
Quest delivers your numbers directly to you, so they are yours no matter what. Your clinician then goes through them with you at a follow-up visit, $149 and usually about 15 minutes, sorting what is addressable, what is worth watching, and what is simply normal, then adjusting the plan at future follow-ups as new labs come in. If nothing remarkable turns up, you will hear that in plain words, and you will still hold a documented baseline that makes every future result easier to interpret.
Florida patients at New Genesis Vitality are seen by four clinicians, each holding an active Florida license: Brad Wasson, DO, Board-Certified Family Medicine, Longevity Specialist, who also medically reviews this page; Jeff Beaty, DO, Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine and Certified in Peptide Medicine; Jeffrey McWilliams, MD, Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine; and Keith Kirbow, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, a nurse practitioner dual-board-certified in family practice and psychiatry.
Kirbow’s lane deserves its own sentence: cognitive symptoms often sit where the metabolic and the mental overlap, and a clinician certified in both family practice and psychiatry is trained for exactly that intersection. If the phrase you searched was closer to “cognitive optimization clinic in Florida for adults over 50,” this roster and the Cognitive & Neuro-Optimization program it delivers are what that phrase describes in practice. The rest of what we offer Floridians is on the telehealth in Florida page.
Whatever you came to Florida for, or stayed for, is exactly what the fog is spending.
